OUR STORY
We Didn't Find Boykins. BOYKINS Found Us.
We've been bird hunters our whole lives. Springers in the early years. Brittanys through quail country. Every dog taught us something, but none of them did it all.
We wanted a dog that could work the water, hold its own in upland cover, retrieve with drive, and come home at the end of the day and settle into the family like it belonged there.
When we finally hunted behind a Boykin, Bosque River Boykins was born.
Based in Granbury, Texas, we run a kennel focused on genetics, health, and early development. We're proud to be a Silver-level member of the Boykin Spaniel Society's Breeder Program, a distinction reserved for breeders who meet strict health and screening standards.
We're not trying to be the biggest kennel in the country. We're trying to be the one you're glad you found.

Early Neurological Stimulation
From Day 3 - Day 16, every puppy goes through our ENS protocol. Gentle, structured stimulation during this critical window produces a dog that's calmer, more confident, and easier to train.
TEN WEEKS, NOT SIX
While the industry standard is 6-8 weeks, we hold our puppies until 10 weeks. Those extra weeks matter for socialization, confidence, and the temperament that makes a great dog.
GENETICS FIRST
Our dogs are health tested and registered with the Boykin Spaniel Society, AKC, and UKC. Both sire and dam carry full registration across all three; no exceptions, no shortcuts.
SMALL BY DESIGN
We produce a limited number of litters each year, which means when you bring home a Bosque River dog, you're not getting one of hundreds. You're getting one of ours.

We have two litters coming up in Fall 2026 and early Spring 2027. Spots are limited and will go to families who are the right fit.
Every puppy is health tested, microchipped, and registered with BSS, AKC, and UKC before they leave. They'll come home with vet records and everything they need to hit the ground running.

Boykins combine strong retrieving instincts, upland versatility, high prey drive, and the kind of trainability that makes a good hunter a great one.

We start with genetics — every dog in our program carries full health testing and pedigree verification. We add Early Neurological Stimulation from day 3 through day 16, and we hold our puppies until 10 weeks. We're also one of the few dedicated Boykin breeders west of the Mississippi.

We have litters planned for Fall 2026 and early Spring 2027. We're currently taking applications for both.

Spots are filled in the order applications are received, which is why we encourage serious buyers not to wait.

We prefer that you come to us, but we understand that's not always possible. For out-of-state customers we can recommend trusted transport companies or coordinate a meetup at DFW Airport.
